Mom donated blood regularly, she was a card-carrying member of Red Cross. Her birthday is coming up on Sept 19. My sister and I will be donating blood on that day in memory of her. That's a huge thing for me cause just thinking about it makes my knees go weak...Who else wants to join Kai and I in pledging to donate blood?

I am incredibly grateful to have taken the time to fly to visit Patricia the last week of her life here. She was incredibly kind and so generous. She voiced a relief, not knowing what our reunion would reveal...we laughed together and I got to hear wonderful stories about her life. I just came across a letter from her this week while organizing my office...actually there was not letter; just another one of her tear sheet from the newspaper...thinking of me. I will always hold my time with Kari, Kai, Kaleb and Patricia near and dear to me.
