Manouchehr Kavoosi
Feb. 28, 1930-April 26, 2025
Menlo Park, California
Dr. Manouchehr Kavoosi, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Menlo Park, California. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Dr. Iran Iranpour.
Born in 1930 in Kerman, Iran, Manouchehr entered the world after the passing of his father, Khodayar. He was lovingly raised by his mother, Firoozeh, with the devoted support of his sister Morvarid and the steady guidance of his brother-in-law Rostam and older brother Sohrab.
He earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Tehran, specialized in Pediatrics, and completed further training in Pediatric Hematology at the University of Illinois Cook County Hospital.
After completing his training, he returned to Iran and opened his practice in Tehran, where he cared for patients for nearly four decades. A dedicated physician, Manouchehr served multiple generations within families and was a founding member of Arad Hospital, one of Tehran’s leading private hospitals. He lived his Hippocratic Oath with deep kindness, integrity, and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. Manouchehr was known for his calm spirit, gratitude for life, and love for nature, Persian poetry, and music. He encouraged living with patience, balance, faith, and appreciation for the ordinary principles that he integrated into every facet of his life and work. He consistently expressed his love through his unwavering efforts to be helpful, a legacy we hope to carry forward.
He is deeply missed by his children, Suzan and Sam Kavusi, their spouses Fariborz and Armita, and his grandchildren Negin, and Kevan. He was also warmly connected to Negin’s husband, Srajal. He now reunites in peace with his grandson Aidin, who transitioned in October 2023.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to the hospice staff and the devoted caregivers with whom he formed close bonds in his final months. They are especially grateful to Dr. Nazila Safari, Dr. Nogol Rashidi, Dr. Alireza Sodeifi, Dr. Khankari — his primary care physician and fellow Cook County Hospital graduate — and the teams at Stanford Hospital and Palo Alto Medical Foundation for their compassionate and attentive care.
He lived with kindness and left with peace.
