Jeanne Throckmorton Bartlett, 90, a longtime resident of Portola Valley, CA, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, in Redwood City, CA. Born in New Rochelle, NY, on March 15, 1934, Jeanne was the daughter of Harold Avington Throckmorton and Dorothy Louise Mason Throckmorton. She grew up in Rye, NY, and Great Barrington, MA. After graduating from Miss Gill School for Girls in 1954, Jeanne attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, for two years. She then moved to San Francisco, where she worked for an advertising agency before marrying her beloved husband, John Alexander Bartlett, in 1958. The couple eventually settled in Portola Valley, where they raised four children: Stewart, Lindsay, Shelly, and Peter. Jeanne was known for many passions; she was an avid gardener, a tennis enthusiast, and a loving matriarch who treasured time with her children and grandchildren. She had a caring nature always offering support to family, friends, and animals. Jeanne's feisty spirit and fun-loving personality made her one-of-a-kind. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, (Harold and Dorothy); her siblings, (Bruce and Diane), her son-in-law, (Joseph Montero Jr.), and her husband John. Jeanne is survived by her four children, Stewart, Lindsay, Shelly, Peter, and her grandchildren (Julia, Adam, Joseph, Jake, Taylor, Kyle, Sean, and Erik), and many dear friends. A celebration of life service will be held this Spring.
