Cliff H Higgerson
Oct. 27, 1939-April 7, 2026
Menlo Park, California
Cliff Higgerson, beloved husband, devoted father, quiet leader, and deeply humble man, passed away on April 7, 2026, at age 86.
Born and raised on a farm in southern Illinois, Cliff learned early the values that guided his life—hard work, integrity, and humility—and carried that grounded perspective throughout his life.
He built a distinguished career in finance, earning widespread respect in investment banking at Hambrecht & Quist and L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg & Towbin. Cliff transitioned to venture capital, becoming the founding force behind ComVentures and serving as a valued general partner with Vanguard Ventures and Walden International. He also advised numerous venture firms, supporting innovation across multiple industries.
Despite his accomplishments, Cliff never sought the spotlight. Practical and unassuming, he was guided by principle rather than prestige and valued relationships above recognition.
To his family, he was simply Dad — a steady presence, thoughtful listener, and source of quiet strength. He led by example, showing what it means to remain true to oneself.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judith; daughters Amy (John Cooper) and Carolyn (Lars Sjostrand); grandchildren Ashley, Grant, and Cara; and sisters Anita Worthington and Bonita Higgerson.
His life is a reminder that where you begin does not define where you can go, and that character is shown by staying true to your core.
