Longtime resident of Menlo Park, Jean passed away on December 30 due to complications from lung cancer.
Jean was born in Dodge City, Kansas, the only child of Henry and Amanda Sproul. She spent her childhood years living in different cities in the Southwest, then she moved to Ashland, Oregon, for her Junior High School years and then on to Southern California, where she attended Belmont High School and USC.
In 1947 Jean met the love of her life, Frank Denny. After a brief courtship, they were married on April 17, 1948. Frank passed away in 1976.
In 1957, Jean and Frank founded Frank Denny Plumbing Inc., where she worked for over fifty years. The couple had four sons, Jock, Scott, Todd and Kyle, who are all still actively involved in the business.
In her spare time, Jean loved to read, travel and garden. She was also an active volunteer for the Assistance League of San Mateo County.
Jean is survived by her four sons, her daughters-in-law Connie Denny, Deborah Denny, Mary Denny and Wendy Denny, and grandchildren John Reinbolt (Kelly), Ryan Denny (Anita), Kylie Denny, Cole Denny, Grant Denny, Lindsay Denny, Clayton Denny and Joslyn Denny.
