Callie Alexander Cain, a 49-year resident of Ladera, died January 17, 2014.

She was born July 23, 1924, in Biloxi, Mississippi. She first met her late husband Charles Cain on a blind date in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and moved to the Bay Area in 1957 with her young family.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She loved the hills of Ladera and mountains of Lake Tahoe and their views on the world.

She was a devoted Catholic and part of the Woodside Priory's Chapel community.

She is survived by her sister, Rose Marie Schexnayder of Baton Rouge, LA; her daughter, Aileen Cain (David) of Moss Beach CA; her sons, Michael Cain (Vicky) of Carlsbad, CA; Patrick Cain (Mary) of Portola Valley, CA; Timothy Cain (Margie) of Palo Alto, CA; Christopher Cain (Carole) of Naperville, IL; and her grandchildren Alexandra Cain Olney (Brandon), Bryan Cain Olney (Bahare), Lindsey McIntyre, Laura Cain, Joseph Cain, Callie Cain, Tess Cain, Charles Cain, Sophie Cain, Grace Cain, Mia Cain, Samuel Cain, Kelley Cain, and Jack Cain.

Memorial Services will be held at the Woodside Priory Chapel, 302 Portola Rd, Portola Valley, CA 94028 on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Woodside Priory School, Alma Via of San Francisco via the Elder Care Alliance, or Pathways Hospice Foundation.
