Remo (Ray) Dominic Ferrari age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10th at his home in Woodside, California surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born on October 21, 1929 in Aulla, Italy to Carlo and Stella Ferrari. The family migrated to San Francisco in 1936.
Ray attended Sacred Heart High School where he met Virginia Flocchini. Ray and Virginia married in 1952 following his service in the US Army. They moved to Menlo Park where he raised his family and lived for more than 50 years.
Ray and his brothers Larry, Bruno & Roy founded the demolition company, Ferma Corporation and from 1964, he and his brothers built a dynasty that continues to this day. Through their partnership, they developed land for shopping centers and industrial use, built apartment and office buildings and secured land for future development.
He was a visionary who carved his own path to success while always making family a priority. Outgoing, with incredible charisma, Ray had a gift of bringing people together. One of his admitted greatest achievements, was raising his four boys. He was and always will be their champion and hero.
Ray was a pilot, a great cook, loved deep sea fishing, playing golf, traveling and driving fast cars. He will always be remembered as a warm generous man who dedicated his life to providing for his family and helping others.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years Diana Ferrari, his sons, Raymond, Richard, David and Ronald, his grandchildren Alexandra, Raquel, Gina, Nikole, Renee, Ashley and Sean and his brothers Roy and Bruno. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Carlo and Stella, brother Larry and sister Fern.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family requests only immediate family and closest friends attend the private services. It is requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the American Kidney Fund. www.kidneyfund.org
