Patricia Arnold, 81, a longtime resident of Palo Alto and Portola Valley, died of cancer March 9.

She spent most of her life in the Bay Area and was an active painter and sculptor.

She is survived by her husband, Maxwell; her three children, Jane Arnold Halsey and Caroline Arnold of New York, and Oliver Arnold of Princeton, N.J.; her sister, Jeane Golding of Laguna Beach; her brother, Sam Schulman of Irvine; and two granddaughters.
