Woodside, California

Claude Jean Gaubert passed away at the age of 88 on September 21 st 2024, after taking a tragic fall. He was born on June 1, 1936, in Oakland, California. He was predeceased by his parents Fernanda and René Gaubert. Claude’s French heritage was very important to him, and he continued to be fluent in French for his entire life.

Claude attended Oakland High School and Menlo College where he received a degree in Business. During his time at Menlo, he met his wife-to-be Sandra Petri and after graduation, he joined the Marine Reserves. He was always very proud of his time served.

Claude and Sandra raised three children, Michelle, Claude Jr. and Danielle, and eventually settled in Woodside where they have lived for the last 40 years.

Claude was an avid snow skier, water skier, tennis player, golfer, fisherman, and duck hunter. He was a member of the Palo Alto Club, Menlo Circus Club, and Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club. He was also a lifetime member of the California Waterfowl Association. Above all, family was most important to him, especially the cherished times spent together at Lake Tahoe.

Claude will be remembered for his exuberant spirit and love of life. He touched the lives of many with his generosity and humor. Once you met him, you could not forget him. Claude will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra of 65 years, his children: Michelle Gaubert, Claude Jr. (Jacqueline) Gaubert, Danielle (Terry) Carlson and four grandchildren: Nicholas, Jean-Claude (Shelby), Gabrielle Gaubert, and Jessica Carlson.
